I love Jim Gaffigan. His book Dad is Fat was one of the funniest parenting books I've ever read, so I was really excited when I found out he has a new book out on my favorite topic - food. Food: A Love Story is basically a book of essays about all things food related and every single chapter is hilarious. I especially loved Gaffigan's take on Maryland's crab and oyster (snots in a rock) obsession, which I can relate to because my family is from that area, and yes, they do decorate with crabs. I also loved his skewering of pretty much every fast food establishment in existence, especially the Waffle House. I laughed straight through this book and it's one of those books where you feel like you have to read sections out loud and quote bits of it to everyone you meet while you're reading it. Just loved it. Now I can't wait for him to write a third book. It can't come soon enough.
