Birth, Breath, and Death: Meditations on Motherhood, Chaplaincy, and Life as a Doula is a beautiful spiritual memoir by (full disclosure here) my friend Amy Glenn who is about ten thousand times more enlightened than I am. Glenn writes here about leaving her traditional Mormon family in Utah and embarking on a brave spiritual journey around the world where she lives, learns and grows through her work as a doula, teacher, yogi and chaplain (and also at one point a singing waitress of some sort.) It's a lovely book written in the same peaceful, gentle tone with which she speaks. And if you happen to live in the Fort Lauderdale area, you can check out one of Amy's Monday morning Mommy and Me yoga classes at Bombay Room Yoga. This is a fantastic read for fans of birth stories too. Please visit Amy's inspiring Facebook page and give her a like!
